You don’t need to know the difference between a three-card and a Celtic cross to get the most out of a tarot card reading. All you need: your sun sign! Here’s what I do: shuffle my tarot deck and take out the cards in order from Aries to Pisces, plus a general card for everyone so you can get specific advice on your personality. Let’s go!
A GENERAL CARD FOR ALL: SEVEN OF PENTACLES
Just because you’ve been doing something for a long, long time doesn’t mean you have to keep doing it forever. Things change. We are growing. Circumstances change. The Seven of Pentacles is a little reminder to all of us that we are free to move on, make a change, and try a new path at any time. There is no obligation. There are no ties that cannot be loosened, if not cut. You are free to change direction. Take a deep breath and remember that.
ARIES: SIX OF WANDS
A wonderful week is coming up, Aries, and I feel like everything is finally falling into place! The Six of Wands is a victory card. It’s a celebration that you’ve landed in exactly the right place. So breathe, relax and savor where you are. Your hard work has paid off and life is good. It’s time to enjoy your life.
TAURUS: THE TOWER
Don’t be afraid of the Rook, Taurus. It always causes a ripple of tension as it predicts big bangs, major revelations and sudden impacts. Life can get hectic, can’t it? The good news is that whatever happened this week was a long time coming. The tower puts things right, pressure-tests fake and discolored structures, and crumbles things that no longer serve you. This week will change that.
GEMINI: FIVE OF WANDS
Wherever there is stress, pressure, conflict or tension in your world, take a closer look. Don’t engage in any drama, let it all fade into the background. Looking for clues. The Five of Wands asks you to look at the truths, context and facts of the matter. Untangle everything. Get to the root cause. The Five of Wands reminds us that ~noise~ can act as a signal pointing to things that need attention and change. Be ready to fix this problem. Look for a resolution.
CANCER: THREE OF CUPS
The Three of Cups is a lovely card about enjoying your life, having fun, and seeking pleasure. We’re here for a while, not for long. Cancer, let go and take a break this week. Look around you. Where do you want to go? What do you want to do? Who do you want to spend more time with? Make these things happen this week. If you don’t prioritize pleasure in your own life, no one will! Be your own party planner and travel agent this week. Make life fun.
LEO: SEVEN OF CUPS
Denial is a funny thing. We don’t see it in ourselves, only others…except sometimes in hindsight. The Seven of Cups is a nudge that you might cling to in a state of denial about something or someone. This week you are ready to see things as they are, finally. Stop suppressing or covering up uncomfortable facts or events. Look them in the face. It’s time for the truth.
VIRGO: ACE OF WANDS
You are ruled by Mercury, which makes you an eternal student, eager to learn and acquire new information and skills. The Ace of Wands asks you to think about what you would like to devote your mental powers to this fall and winter. What topics, skills, themes or interests inspire you? What would you like to have learned or accomplished by the end of the year? Start now.
LIBRA: THE CRAZY
The Fool is the first card of the tarot, representing a new beginning. By the spring of 2023, something will emerge in your life that you should run headlong towards, no matter what others say. It can be a new relationship, a job, a career path, a place, a home or an activity. Either way, it’s exciting and fun, and you feel enthusiastic about it. This card is permission to pursue it unreservedly. You are ready for a fresh start.
SCORPIO: QUEEN OF SWORDS
Do it your way, Scorpio (you will do it anyway, I know). Don’t listen to what they say, follow your own agenda. The Queen of Swords is a powerful, independent, and ruthless solo player. This is you at your best: strong, energetic, focused and full of purpose. You are creating something important, and right now the opinions of others are a distraction. You have to hold on and listen to your instincts.
SAGITTARIUS: ACE OF PENTACLES
Good things come to those who wait. Ace of Pentacles shows you’re working hard on a long-term project and will bring you some cool rewards and gifts…but not quite yet. Right now is the time to keep working towards your goal, even if it seems far away. (This goal is likely to be related to health, work, money, or home, BTW). Future You will thank yourself for your efforts.
CAPRICORN: SEVEN OF SWORDS
You’re cautious, Cap, and you don’t automatically trust everyone. It’s an admirable trait that has protected you in the past. The Seven of Swords is a small warning signal that someone untrustworthy or sleazy might be in or around your circle at this time. Play it safe. Don’t engage. Let them pass. Protect your interests and do not expose your true desires. If in doubt…don’t.
AQUARIUS: FIVE OF SWORDS
The only way out is through. The Five of Swords is a choppy, shifting card that shows you’re in flux. Don’t try to quit; you’re not done yet. Keep pushing this messy situation forward. Don’t look back or step onto old ground. Instead, focus on finding a solution. You will emerge stronger and wiser.
FISH: KING OF CHOPSTICKS
The King of Wands brings power, ambition, excitement and opportunity into your world, if only you will act with confidence and reach out to take advantage of what is on offer! Sometimes you have to take a chance, and this week will give you plenty. Play a risky hand, take a bold leap, and say “yes” to everything (within reason). You can go further than you think possible. It all starts with trying your luck.
