‘Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark’ Filmmaker Now Directs Tarot Card

André Øvredal will now make a horror film based on tarot cards!

Prepare to break the bridge. André Øvredal (dir. Scary stories to tell in the dark) will now lead Tarot, a brand new horror movie about tarot cards!

The adaptation was auctioned off very competitively to production company eOne from a pitch written by Jason Pagan and Andrew Deutschman.

Plot details are scarce, although Deadline reports that the film would be a “high concept tarot card-based thriller.” Guess it was only a matter of time before something like this hit Demand.

Rising horror icon André Øvredal will direct and produce the project, likely alongside producers Brad Fuller and Alex Ginno.

It’s all in the cards

outraged Scary stories to tell in the dark, André Øvredal became famous with his epic Troll Hunter, which caught the attention of Guillermo del Toro. A Scary stories mega-fan, del Toro quickly put the Norwegian filmmaker in touch with the catwalk horror concert.

The producers behind the next Tarot project also live up to the recent horror hits themselves. Fuller Media produces A Quiet Place, Part II, one of the greatest horror hits in recent memory.

Before André Øvredal treated us Tarot, we will see his adaptation of the epic Dracula Demeter’s Last Voyage. Voyage is currently in post-production and appears to be one of the many new Dracula projects in the works. Dread recently reported the casting of Nicolas Cage as the Batman in the Universal Monster cover, Renfield.
